In places all over the world today is a good excuse to go mad!
And yet here in Ireland it all tends to be a little more low key – strange that!
No matter what you are doing today, I hope it is a good and happy time. We will be heading off to the village (Lorrha) to watch the parade, which is being held early this year so everyone can then go to and/or watch the GAA club championships which Portumna are playing in.
What is everyone eating to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? I trust that all those who received their pork deliveries yesterday will be celebrating with a piece of free-range Saddleback pork???
Our pork is moving nationwide now… with deliveries made yesterday to Birr, Garryhinch, Swords and Donabate.
We had our celebratory St. Patrick’s Day dinner last night, as there is so much happening today, it will probably be a quick dinner this evening!
For the first time in months, we did have a small piece of roast pork left for ourselves and of course, couldn’t wait to try it! It was yummy and the crackling truly delicious….. heaven!
So who’s replacing me as Grand Marshall this year??
Just off to parade… will let you know if they’ve been able to find anyone of suitable stature to replace you… I doubt it!
notice the great colour of the meat.
