I know it is a new year and yes, everyone is thinking of new starts… but right now I’m trying to figure out where to start!
Before Christmas, I was doing lots of chasing tenders and chasing after job applications…. but there has been no response… is that a positive? I don’t know. I just wish if you apply for a job that companies would at least let you know – whichever way – and it can be done so cheaply now, they don’t even have to spend money on a postage stamp, they could email …. just to let you know if it is a yes, a possible, a probable or a big no!
Besides that the end of year/beginning of new year has been very positive. We had a lovely evening with our neighbours Anne-Marie and PJ…. Anne-Marie cooked a beautiful dinner for us, and although we had invited them to dinner (and also invited our friend, Yvonne) Anne-Marie insisted we come to theirs for dinner. What a lovely evening we had – did you all see the Blue Moon and Lunar Eclipse – what a special thing to happen on New Year’s Eve!
By the way, Yvonne came on Thursday and is still here…. weather has been so bad, she hasn’t been able to travel on the roads. We’ve been having lots of fun on doing our ‘ready, steady, cook theme’…. basically it works on the premise of what’s in the fridge or available, and let’s see what we can make dinner for 3 or 4 out of this… we are definitely getting better and better at it! In fact, we’ve become quite adept at it!
Besides cooking, the past few days have been spent taking very short walks (roads very slippy!), watching Harry Potter as gaeilge, teaching Yvonne how to play Scrabble and another game from year’s back called Anagram!
