Mixed feelings?
When my brother-in-law’s tumbledown old family home was knocked, he felt very mixed about it indeed (even though he was driving the JCB!)
On the bright side – you might be fit to recycle that lovely old stone – build a nice garden wall, or numerous things. The corner stones would be particularly useful!
I am interested only because of my interest in family history. You can probably see who lived in that house in the 1850s if you check out Griffith`s Valuations in askaboutireland.com. I`m not looking to find out myself-just thought you might be interested.

Absolutely. It’s part of heritage. Don’t think it would have lasted another winter. It had become dangerous. Sad to see it in though.

Exactly! The building was obviously too far gone so reusing that beautiful stone is essential
My mission this week is to take photos of how we’ve used some of the stone already 🙂
That is part of the plan! We’ve already used some of the stone in a couple of projects. Must take some photos and share 🙂
Love Limewindow’s idea about recycling the old stone 🙂
Will take photos and share how we’ve used some of the stone so far 🙂
How old was it?
At least 200 years… but probably more
