Our community has been stunned and saddened this week.
A young man from our village was killed in a tragic road accident.
Everywhere you go, everyone you meet – it is the only topic of conversation. In a community as rural as ours, where there is no such thing as public transport, all the young people wait anxiously for their 18th birthday so they can drive. This week every parent here is thinking it could have been one of our children.
The sadness has engulfed us.
While we know his two older brothers, we didn’t know this young man other than to see him out walking/running with his dog, where the standard joke was ‘who is taking who for the run?’ He seemed such a lovely young chap always had time to nod or wave while running along.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends today.
May He Rest In Peace.
How very tragic. Thoughts and prayers being offered for the family and for your community.
Thank you Paula, so tragic when a young life is ended.
Heartbreaking to read, such a young life cut short.
Colette it is so so tragic… all the young people around here want to drive – who can blame them – but then to have someone so young taken – heart-breaking.
Am so sorry, Margaret, it’s awful for you all as a community to mourn the loss of this young lad. Just be there for the family is all I can say.
Thanks Colette.
