At long last the weather has finally started to improve, the daffodils are in bloom and the temperatures have risen.
Today the temperature actually went up to about 17 degrees. It was glorious out in the garden!
In a previous post I told you that we had 25 new arrivals. They were so tiny then.
You should see them now, they are like a swarm. All run together (there is no walking anywhere!).
(Please excuse the quality of the video – we are new to it and still learning how to use it!)
On Thursday afternoon, we had great fun (and great exercise) with them. Floppy’s babies (13 of them) were still small enough to duck under the electric fence. And off they went exploring. When Floppy realised they were missing she started to call them back. (Pigs do talk to each other all the time.)
You will have to come visit to hear them!
Back to the babies… being toddlers they completed ignored Mammy’s calls and continued on their adventure! Finally, Mammy could handle it no longer and she literally took a run at the fence, knowing it was going to hurt her, but she had to get at them!
That was when Farmer Alfie and I had fun! Trying to get Floppy back through to the right side of the fence… and in the meantime, babies are scurrying everywhere! Twice this happened! We had even lowered the electric fence believing they wouldn’t get under it – that didn’t work. In the end we had to increase the power on the electric fence! That worked!
Two days later they won’t go anywhere near the fence – even though by now it is back to what it originally was! But we are not going to tell them that! And we would ask that you don’t either!
