Bernadette - is she really a city girl??
Having been without my camera for 2 months, I am soooo thrilled to have got it back fully repaired on Friday. To celebrate, I went a bit mad taking photos of pigs yesterday, and I am now going to attempt to load them up here! There’s a first time to try everything.
Have had urbanite visitors for the weekend too, so it was fun to get them out into the field with the pigs – Bernadette was braver than Philip when it came to getting in to the pen with them! Maybe there is a bit of a country girl in her after all!!!
Not sure that the pigs would be as happy if they knew that the word is out… we will have pork products in the next couple of weeks! Sent emails out on Friday, and already have had a great response. Pork was really nice last time, so imagine it will be just as nice after all the local vegetables they’ve been eating all summer long.
Hi. Just wondering if you feel that pigs are such an intelligent animals and there is always a sense of guilt when their days in the paddock come to an end. Good to read your Blog
Hi, Margaret, your Blog really did make me laugh. I think you have all the ingredients for a good book, if not a comic strip. I remember visiting when the 2nd lot of piglets arrived. Having pestered Alfie, he duly took me to feed them, and I recalled saying, ‘I didnt know you had so many pigs’, he looked at me quizzled and confessed he had not yet told Margaret, no wonder, he had been a bit slow in taking me up the yard and now I had to think where do I want to be when he tells Margaret. I also asked when do you have to separate the boars and sows, oh certainly not for weeks, was a very knowing reply and then from this learned fellow I received the call about 4 pregnant sows!! There have been so many laughs, I love visiting and always so thoroughly enjoy your company and am deeply appreciative of your good company. xx
